Norte’s current operations are spread across three separate buildings at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center, creating inefficiencies that limit our ability to meet the increasing demand for our programs. Our community lacks a dedicated space where children and families can develope bicycle safety skills, learn to ride confidently, and enjoy being active together.

The Solution: A Consolidated Bicycle Education Center

A consolidated Bicycle Education Center, combined with Norte’s proven programs, offers a transformative solution to pressing community challenges.

Amid rising rates of isolation, inactivity, and disconnection among children, this center will provide a welcoming space to build confidence, foster independence, and create meaningful connections while promoting safety, active lifestyles, and lifelong healthy habits

Expand Opportunities: Offer more robust and innovative programs to empower riders of all ages and abilities such as our Bikes for All, More Girls on Bikes, and our 2nd Grade Bike SMART program that we are piloting during 2025.

Enhance Accessibility: Create a welcoming and easily accessible location for community members to borrow bicycles from our Bike Library, participate in mechanic classes, and gain bike safety and handling skills.

Streamline Operations: Centralize staff, programs, and resources for greater efficiency and regional impact.
