Vasa Pathway and Bike Park
Also known as the Vasa 25km, the Vasa Pathway is a year-round trail used for mountain biking, trail running, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Originally designed as a ski trail, the Pathway includes a full 25-kilometer loop, a 3-kilometer dog-friendly trail, the 5-kilometer Headwaters Loop, and several shortcuts to make a day in the woods accessible for any trail user.

Vasa Bike Park
Traverse Area Recreational Trails, Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association, Norte, and dozens of community organizations have helped bring the Vasa Bike Park to life. The Bike Park includes a short 1 mile skills loop designed to offer an accessible skill-building trail for newer riders, plus jump lines and features for more experienced riders. The proposed expansion of the park will include a dedicated pump track, changes and additions to the skills loop, and new jump lines.
This project has been an incredibly well-received addition to the Vasa Pathways Trailhead. It’s a favorite place to meet and ride for our Norte Mountain Bike programs and our Race Team during spring, summer, and fall sessions.
Note that the Vasa Bike Park is not groomed or maintained during winter.
